Death becomes You - V

The hallway's a dead end so my possible route of escape's gotta be through one of these four doors. All those years of playing first person shooters on Playstation could finally come in handy. Stealth is the key, like I'm playing "Thief: The Metal Age". But anyway.

I stood there thinking which door to try next. Flashes of last night came back to me. Yeah, I did something terrible and look what that's got me into. Do we make the choices we make, or is it something else driving us?

Soul searching - later. Right now, get out of here.

Open the next door. Room. Tiny. Bare walls. Lone bulb hanging from the ceiling. Lit. Chipped wood table. Nobody inside. Phew!

Origami birds on the table. And a sheet of paper torn from a notepad. Somebody had scribbled on it:

"I saw some dust settle down,
And after that
NOTHING."

Whatever that means.

Reading this gave me the chills. I thoroughly enjoyed. It touched a real cord. Good question I ask myself many times: Do we make the choices we make, or is it something else driving us? I wish I knew the answer.

Again, now that I read the story from the beginning, I read this again and can't wait to hear what happens next. This is deep and intriguing... don't want it to end.
